I figured it was about time I posted a recipe on this blog.
There hasn't been too much baking going on, but this was a simple and tasty recipe to whip up.
Asher and Abbie (Daddy too) were pretty excited to eat these.
This is a great recipe to make with little kids.
They can help pour the cereal and Pieces in...
Plus they get the added bonus of seeing spider webs form (according to my kids)
from the melted mallows being mixed with the cereal.
That is their favorite part, minus the eating.
This treat is super easy to make, and it is great anytime of the year...
Though it would be especially yummy and cute as a Fall treat.
Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Bars
7 cups Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Cereal
12 oz Miniature Marshmallows
4 T Butter
4 oz Box Reese's Pieces
Lightly spray a 9x13 pan and set aside. In a large bowl, count out the cereal then set aside.
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the mini marshmallows.
Stir constantly, until marshmallows are completely melted, to prevent scorching.
Immediately pour over cereal and stir until completely covered. Add 2/3 of the Reese's Pieces to the mixture... the pieces will become all melty gooey. Spread into the 9x13 pan. If necessary, spray hands or spatula with cooking spray to prevent sticking as you press the mixture into the pan.
Pour the rest of the Pieces onto the top of the mixture, and lightly press so that they adhere to the still sticky marshmallows.
Consume the treat:)
Asher gobbled it up.
Abbie wouldn't eat dinner, so there are no pictures of her eating the freshly made treat, as she didn't get any.
I am such a mean mommy:)
I think that is part of the reason why Asher is smiling...
He loved the treat, and loved the fact that he got it all to himself-
The little toad:)
