Three months ago, two of my sisters in law and I started planning a baby shower. My other sister in law Katie, is having a little boy in August.
I saw the idea for She's Ready to POP over on P is for Party, and I immediately knew I could do it on a smaller scale.
Minus some lighting issues for the photography, they shower went great. Katie got so many cute outfits, and useful things to care for her baby boy.
Truffle POPs
I had these resting on a bed of coordinating Sixlet Candies that I found at Hobby Lobby.
Table Display and Pennant Banner
I got all of the ribbon and scrapbook paper from Robert's, right before they went out of business. Now I don't know where I will find the cute paper I love, for a reasonable price.
{Recipe} Homemade POPtarts
Ingredients
Store Bought Rolled Pie Crust
Blackberry Pie Filling
Powdered Sugar Glaze
Sprinkles
Directions
Cut desired size of poptart from dough. Lay one side on the a cookie sheet. Spoon approx. 1T of pie filling on each square, then top with another square. Use a fork to seal the squares together. Bake at temperature suggested on the pie crust box until golden brown. Once they are cooled, mix 3/4 cup Powdered Sugar with 1T milk and 1t Vanilla. Dip the tops of the tarts in the glaze, then sprinkle and serve.
Diaper Cake
Even the colors on the diapers coordinated with our color palette:)
POPcorn Three Ways
I got all three recipes for the popcorn of of Our Best Bites
We made
Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn
Fruity Candy Popcorn
Warm Cinnamon Bun Popcorn (My favorite)
They all tasted great and added the perfect touch to the baby shower.

Strawberry Agua Fresca
I love Agua Fresca! I get it whenever I can at a restaurant Matt and I go to sometimes. Now it gets even better, because I can make my own with a recipe I whipped up. Katie's favorite fruit flavor is Strawberry. I wanted to serve something light, REFRESHING, and fruity, because of all the other sweets we were serving.
Later this week I will post the recipe. It is healthier and tastes so much better than Kool Aid.
Clothesline Word Prompt
While some of the guests ate, and Katie was opening gifts, we had a little clothes line set up. We asked some of the guests to pick a card and write what the prompt told them. It was a fun little keepsake with memories and advice. Amy did an excellent job with the invites, word prompts, and food tags.
Some of the tags said, "I hope your not afraid of" or "I hope you laugh at" It was a nice little addition to the festivities.
Each party gets easier, and it is so much fun to plan and execute these festive occasions. It makes it even better when you are helping and celebrating with family:)
