Bird's Nest Necklace

It is about time I did a crafty post!

Wire Wrapped Bird's Nest Necklace

I have another nest I did that isn't as clean.  It has bends and twists in it so that it looks more like a true nest.  I need to get a better gauge wire the next time I make one.  This is a 26 gauge and I need to use a larger one; maybe a 20 gauge.  I used some gunmetal faux pearls, but next time I want to use some of the real pearls my dad brought back for me from a pearl farm in Asia.  I like the added touch of the vintage inspired glass flower bead.  Now I just need to have another baby and then all of my little "eggs" can be represented:)

Jade Drop Earrings

These are my favorite earrings I have made! I should probably post the other ones I have done, because there are some cool ones there too:)
These are simple, but I love the color and weight of Jade.  In my hope chest is the first piece of jade jewelry I ever received.  I need to pull it out and wear it!  My Uncle Dale, who makes jewelry, made a setting with a large oval Jade stone in the middle.  I love how Jade seems to always be cool to the touch, and I like how smooth it is.  There are so many shades of green, and it reminds me of an exotic land far away.  It always has.
My dad brought me back some awesome Jade bracelets on his way through Hong Kong a couple of years ago.  I decided to use the beads to make some earrings.  Now I have an awesome pair of earrings, in one of my favorite colors, with one of my favorite stones, given to me by my dad.  These earrings are a triple threat:)
