Abbie's Week Of Celebration Part II

For Abbie's first 1st birthday party, we combined with Emmie (5) and Cooper's (2) birthdays. We figured that that would be a lot to ask the Wilson side to drive all over for three birthdays in the span of a week. Us three moms divided up the responsibilities, and each of us were in charge of a cake.
I made cupcakes from a box, because Abbie's b-day cake for the next day was so extensive, and I ran out of time. First off, I do not like cake mixes from a box. Maybe it was the brand I purchased, but it's consistency once cooked was terrible. On top of that, I tried the box suggestion of stabbing and pouring jello on each cupcake, then refrigerating. I then had to peel off all of the cupcake wrappers, because of congealed jello sticking to the bottom. It was a pain in the butt. As soon as I find a good made-from-scratch white cake recipe, I am done with boxes of cake mix.
I sewed Abbie's black and white striped leggings out of tube socks, and finally got the ruffle edge to work. I also made her hot pink zebra print, ruffle butt onesie. I wanted her to have two different looks for each party, and I also made it so that she could wear them even after her birthday. It was a fun party and all of the little kids had so much fun.

Opening presents.
She got a ball, a pop up animal toy, a music box, basket of fruits and veggies for the play kitchen, princess keys, princess cell phone, Spanish/English learning toy, and a way cute green gingham dress. It was jun to hang out with the family and celebrate the little kids.

She loved it when we sang to her.
