A Windy Wonderland

On August 6, we took Asher and Abbie to the fair. Matt didn't have to study as he had taken his final that morning so it was adventure time. We thought that it may be short lived though, because a fierce wind blew through. There was dust high in the sky looking as if something very large was on fire. We decided that we would brave the wind and we were determined to still have fun.

Asher and I walked down to the end of an isle and he was able to watch all of the kids do those bungee trampoline jumps. He thought that was so neat, but we will definitely have to wait until he is a little bit older.
Matt thought that I was a punk because one of those pushy vacation booths asked if we wanted a free vacation and I told him that every time we went on vacation I wound up pregnant so we weren't interested right now. The kid just laughed and Matt shook his head. But then again I have always been bashful and not at all outspoken. (Sorry if my sarcasm didn't translate:)

Asher loved watching the horses in the Women's Barrel Racing. We had a perfect spot, and I am sure you will agree that those are the two of the cutest bums you will ever see.:)

Asher loved the petting zoo. He couldn't decide if he wanted pigs or goats. He was so excited to pet the goats head with Matt's help. He also got to help milk a cow and received an awesome sticker as his badge of honor. He was slightly nervous at first, but adjusted quickly.

Matt saved Asher's sticker so that we could put it in his memory box.

The goats kept sticking their heads out hoping that crazy little boy had some food for them, but alas he only had giggles.

The piglets were so cute. They would get up and waddle around and Asher would just watch and follow as much as he could.

Weber County Library had a bunch of booths for little kids. We bought some tickets and Asher was able to go to the fish pond. He loved his little pirate duck. He carried it around the whole time we were at the fair and even at home.

Our last ticket was used for Matt to attempt to win a prize. The goal is for all of the milk cans to be knocked over. I feel that the movie clip speaks for itself.:)

Here is the video of Asher trying to decide which animal was coolest.

It was such a fun night. I am happy that I can share with my children the love of the fair that my dad instilled in me. Next year Abbie will be able to move around and have more fun like Asher did this year, and I can't wait.
